Tier 1 Highly Skilled Migrant Programme (ex HSMP)

UK Visa

What is it?

Unlike a work permits or working holiday visas, the Tier 1 (HSMP) allows applicants to work in the UK with fewer restraints. The programme has been designed to allow highly skilled migrants to work in their area of expertise, whilst contributing to the UK economy and its success. Applications work on a points based system, and are usually issued for a two year period, after which can be extended by three more years. For those who have worked in the UK for 5 years there is the opportunity to apply for indefinite leave to remain.
